Two Trunk-or-Treat Flyers, Two Different Community Spaces
The library and recreation center notices show how similar Halloween events were presented for different dates and places.

Two Fort Walton Beach flyers use the same seasonal idea—Trunk or Treat—but their practical details are different. One advertises the library’s third annual event. The other announces an evening at the recreation center and asks volunteers to decorate their trunks. Both notices are now preserved in the archive. [1][2]

A library parking lot and a recreation center
The library flyer lists Saturday, October 17, 4–6 p.m., and says its parking lot will be used for the event. It directs readers to other parking on Ferry Road or at the Temple Mound Museum and says registration is not required. It does not print a year. [1]
The recreation-center flyer explicitly gives Friday, October 23, 2026, 6–8 p.m., at 132 Jet Drive NW. It advertises free admission and seeks volunteers with decorated trunks and treats. The archive retains that more complete date rather than applying it by assumption to the other flyer. [2]
Practical details are part of local history
A future researcher may be less interested in the candy than in the use of public space: a parking lot temporarily reassigned, nearby parking suggested, volunteers recruited, and different civic institutions hosting similar activities. The notices preserve those arrangements in the form residents were meant to read.
They also preserve the visual language of the events. One centers a large candy-bucket design and the library’s annual tradition; the other uses costumed children and a prominent call for volunteers. Those are features of the promotional documents, not evidence of who attended.
Keep the flyers distinct
The records below host both complete submitted images. They establish what was advertised, not whether the events occurred unchanged. Readers planning to attend should confirm details with the named organizer; the archive’s purpose is to retain the notices and their dates. [1][2]
