Water Service Is Returning. Okaloosa’s Swimming Warning Is a Separate Notice.
Newly archived notices distinguish restored utility service from post-storm swimming risks and preserve the dates behind recovery claims.

Okaloosa’s recovery notices cover different systems and different dates. A county graphic reports restored water and sewer service on Okaloosa Island. An October 13 health notice separately advises against entering beach and pool water after Hurricane Isaias. Restored utility service is not an all-clear for recreational swimming. [1][2][3]
Read the date and the place
The October13 notice from DOH-Okaloosa, also posted on Fort Walton Beach’s official website, describes increased water-borne illness risk after the storm. It points readers to current beach-testing information and says public swimming pools require the department’s approval before reopening. This is a report of the agency’s notice, not a water-quality measurement made by The Salty Rag. [2][3]
An earlier October11 notice addresses Santa Rosa Sound and Choctawhatchee Bay near Highway98 following wastewater releases. That notice says drinking water is not affected by that particular advisory. The archive also preserves an October2 Garnier’s Park notice. Different locations and advisories should not be folded into a single countywide claim. [2]
What the recovery graphics actually say
The supplied county graphic says Okaloosa Island’s public water and sewer systems have been restored, while identifying restroom closures at Beasley Park and Marler Boat Ramp. The county’s emergency-information page also documents restoration updates and conservation concerns. Readers should use the county’s current updates for service and closure decisions. [1][4]
An FPL graphic is explicitly an estimate dated October12. Its restoration percentages and projected deadlines are preserved as a historical update, not repeated here as today’s verified outage count. [1]
Old shelter notices are not current directions
The supplied October8 Davidson Middle School notice announces a shelter opening. Subsequent county information describes shelter stand-down after the storm. We retain both the date and this limitation in the archive so an old opening notice is not mistaken for confirmation that the shelter remains open. [2][4]
The intake also includes a Seniors vs Crime cleanup graphic. Its general consumer guidance is preserved, but its blanket statement about an insurance limit has not been checked against individual policies. The Salty Rag is not presenting that dollar amount as a universal coverage rule. [1]
