A Store Video and a Rideshare Stop: FWB’s September Weapons-Case Account
Police describe a handgun report at a Beal Parkway service station and a later vehicle search. Their release is one account of the case.

A witness’s cellphone video became part of a Fort Walton Beach weapons investigation after a September 1 report at the Shell station at 6 Beal Parkway NW. In a September 2 release, police say the video showed a man putting a handgun on the store counter. [1]
The sequence described by police
The department identifies the man as Tiquan Ballard, 24, of Fort Walton Beach. Officers say they located him entering a rideshare vehicle, stopped the vehicle and identified him as its passenger.
According to the release, officers obtained consent to search and recovered a loaded 9mm handgun, a loaded extended magazine, a digital scale and approximately 51.8 grams of suspected marijuana. The statement does not identify who gave consent or provide a laboratory result. Its use of “suspected” is significant: the release alone does not establish a tested substance identification.
Charges and unanswered questions
Police reported four charges involving firearm possession, alleged marijuana distribution and paraphernalia. They also said Ballard had a prior felony conviction and was on felony probation. Those assertions are attributed to the department; court records were not independently reviewed for this article.
The archived release does not contain the video, search documentation, a defense account or a later court disposition. It describes an arrest and allegations, not a conviction in this case. Those additional records would be needed to assess the account beyond the police statement.
